why i started a YouTube channel
I started a youtube channel 2 months ago. It started as a crazy idea but i did it. i watch a YouTuber who has brain cancer and even so posts videos of his everyday life, everyday for anyone to see. I have watched his vlogs since when i was first faced with news of a chronic illness. i have always admired and look up to him for the strength it must take everyday to pull out a camera and film the good, bad and scary moments in his life. For someone to open up his life like that, to me was inspiring beyond words. As i was going through hospital stays, ambulance rides, and more test i thought existed. i sat and watched his everyday and found motivation from him, that no matter what life throws at you, you can keep going, you can fight back. Going through something no where near as tough as him, i was enthralled that he chose to make his life available to relate to. I finally got the nerves to start my own YouTube channel, i wanted to be a person too that reminded people out there that your not alone. I liked the thought of inspiring people that they can do it and they can through it.
On facebook, i follow a page for pots patients and over a year ago a girl that was part of the facebook page took her own life, and that completely broke my heart. I know how hard pots can get and constantly fighting is tough but i felt terrible this young lady i didnt know and who lived far away took her life. this struck motivation in me that if i ever met someone with pots i would be there for me even if they didnt want to talk.i dont want someone with the same illness as me, feel like they had no one they could relate to.
pots is isolating and friendships with a chronic illness for me are next to none. At my age, you cant ask people to understand, its something thats hard to understand but i want to be there when i can for the few ladies i know with pots because if anything at least we have each other and we know ectatly what each other is going through.
